Buhayra

Buhayra was a Christian monk on the caravan route to Syria who, according to the story, recognized the young Prophet ﷺ, then about eleven or twelve, as a future prophet when Abu Talib's caravan passed, and urged Abu Talib to take him back to Makkah for his safety. The story's authenticity is disputed: al-Tirmidhi, al-Hakim and Ibn Hajar accepted it, while al-Dhahabi called it fabricated and others found it problematic. Orientalists have cited it as the source of the Prophet ﷺ's knowledge of scripture, a claim that does not stand even if the meeting happened.
