This unnamed man was a chieftain of one of the Bedouin tribes that came to the Prophet ﷺ at al-Ji'ranah in 8 AH, while the spoils of Hunayn were being distributed. Many were converting at that time largely in the hope of wealth. He came up to the Prophet ﷺ, seized him by the collar, yanked it, and said, "Give me some of this money that you are giving to others." The Prophet ﷺ only smiled and told those distributing the wealth to give him some.
