This unnamed man of the Ansar captured al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib, the Prophet ﷺ's uncle, who was fighting on the side of the idolaters at Badr in 2 AH. Al-Abbas was a strong warrior and his captor was small and stout, so when they reached the Prophet ﷺ, al-Abbas, embarrassed, said, "This man did not capture me!" The Ansari said, "No, I captured him!" Al-Abbas looked around and said that the man who had captured him had parted hair, was the most handsome man he had ever seen, and rode a beautiful horse of black and white, but that he could not see him now. The Ansari insisted, "No, ya Rasulullah. I was the one." The Prophet ﷺ told him, "Be quiet, for Allah helped you with a noble angel."
