This unnamed Arab, not a Muslim himself, met Musaylimah, the man of Banu Hanifa who claimed to share in prophethood, around 9 AH. He asked him, "You too are a prophet? Do you have anything like the other prophet has?" Musaylimah said he had his own quran and recited his imitation of Surah al-Fil: "The elephant. What is the elephant? And what would have you know what the elephant is? It has a scraggly tail and a very long trunk." The man answered, "Wallahi, you know that I know that you are a liar." It is a testimony against Musaylimah from someone who was not even a Muslim.
