Amr ibn Salim al-Khuza'i was the chieftain of Khuza'a, allied with the Muslims under the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. When Banu Bakr, allies of the Quraysh, attacked Khuza'a in 8 AH, even at prayer in the sanctuary, he rode to Madinah and recited a moving poem invoking the old alliance with Abd al-Muttalib. The Prophet ﷺ promised, "You shall be helped, O Amr ibn Salim," and the breach of the treaty led directly to the Conquest of Makkah.
