Al-Haysaman ibn Abdullah al-Khuza'i fought with the Quraysh at Badr in 2 AH and, according to Ibn Kathir, was the first of their soldiers to reach Makkah after the defeat. Wounded and bloodied, he named one fallen chief after another until the people thought him mad, until Safwan ibn Umayyah tested him and he answered that he had seen Safwan's own father and brother killed.
