الحارث بن هشام
Al-Harith ibn Hisham RA was a nobleman of the Banu Makhzum and the full brother of Abu Jahl, who fought against the Muslims, including at Badr, and was among the last of the Qurashi elite to accept Islam. At the Conquest of Makkah in 8 AH, when the Prophet ﷺ repeated to him words he had spoken privately, he declared that he must be a prophet and accepted Islam; after Hunayn he was given a large share of the spoils. It is he who asks the Prophet ﷺ in Sahih al-Bukhari how revelation came to him. He died a martyr at Yarmouk, famously passing his water to Ikrimah RA, who passed it to Ayyash RA, before all three died.
