أبو قتادة الأنصاري
Abu Qatadah al-Ansari RA was a Companion of the Ansar and a cousin and dear friend of Ka'b ibn Malik RA. On the way to al-Hudaybiyyah in 6 AH, not himself in ihram, he hunted a wild animal that his companions in ihram would not help him catch, and the Prophet ﷺ's ruling that they could eat it became the basis of the law on such game. During the boycott of Ka'b after Tabuk in 9 AH, Abu Qatadah kept to the order and would not speak to his friend, answering his pleas only with "Allah and His Messenger ﷺ know best."
