Abdullah ibn Shihab was a Quraysh fighter at Uhud in 3 AH, one of two men, with Abdullah ibn Qami'a, credited with the sword blow that struck the Prophet ﷺ's helmet as Talhah ibn Ubaydillah RA tried to shield him; the reports are not certain which of the two struck it. He is a different man from the great scholar Ibn Shihab al-Zuhri.
