Abdullah ibn Busr RA

Abdullah ibn Busr RA was one of the last Companions to die. In old age, in Damascus, he narrated a story from his childhood, recorded by Ibn Asakir. The Prophet ﷺ visited his parents' house, and his father gave him a worn-out rug to sit on. His father asked his mother whether there was any food, and she sent the young Abdullah out with some hais, a cake of ground dates mixed with flour. As the boy presented it, the Prophet ﷺ turned to him, rubbed his head and said, "This child shall live for a century." Abdullah asked, "How much is a century?" and the Prophet ﷺ said, "One hundred years."

He told this story at the age of ninety-five. Exactly five years later, at the age of one hundred, he passed away while making wudu, in 88 AH.
