Abd ibn Zam'ah was a man of Makkah, son of Zam'ah and brother of Sawda RA. At the Conquest of Makkah in 8 AH he disputed custody of a boy with Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas RA: the boy had been born to the slave girl of Zam'ah, and Sa'd claimed him for his brother Utbah ibn Abi Waqqas. Abd claimed him as his brother, born on his father's bed, and the Prophet ﷺ ruled, "He is yours, O Abd ibn Zam'ah. The boy is for the bed, and the stone is for the adulterer" (al-Bukhari).
